Haibun - Once Upon A Moonlit Heath
Once Upon a Moonlit Heath
Remains of a day of aches - sharp lightning spikes of
migraine, waves of nausea, thunder rolls heavily along
the spine. A gingko tracing my body's path of pain...
my heart ------- keeping sheep ------- by moonlight
Purple clouds dip into heather. A canvas of wildflowers
glows through my window from another night across the
Atlantic. Brushstrokes lift the darkness like a dear friend.
pink violets ------- the softness ------- of her voice
(ekphrasis - originally haiga with title taken from a painting
by the U.K. artist and poet, Sheila Windsor)
