Haibun - Living Through Death
Living Through Death
I fall asleep and dream of your absence
only to awaken and rise to the surety of
it. Your imprint on the sheets has been
erased by my own tossing and turning.
The plenitude of emptiness overflows
with pain.
But the last light of dusk is the loneliest,
in a lovely lilac haze of clouds. My faith
in the first star to wish upon has failed me.
And the moon appears only if she must.

a grey cloud covers it
